Launched last April with +150 hours of contents, Mech+ is a VOD streaming service from Mech TV Ltd dedicated to robotics, science and engineering content. Some of the contents available are Robot Wars, Techno Games and Car Warriors.
The newly launched channel offers viewers both a live and video on demand viewing experience online at www.mech-plus.com as well as in the Mech+ App for mobile devices (iOS and Android). Currently the USP is making popular nostalgic programming available in HD for the first time. Longer term is to build a go to destination for innovative and entertaining STEM related content.
Nick Rees, COO, said: ‘Building a community around the service is also important to us, a place where viewers can interact. It’s early days but we are seeing a lot of engagement from a very passionate audience who are helping to shape the direction of the channel. New content will be made available every month and there are some exciting shows in the release schedule but we are always looking for new acquisitions that fit the brand. Longer term the main goal is to be in a position to commission the production of new content’.
Mech+ has partnered with Media16 to provide brand campaigns on the AVOD service and is looking for further sponsorship opportunities. Whilst Mech+ is predominantly an AVOD service, viewers in the UK and US are currently able to subscribe for £19.99 a year to watch without the ads. The service is available globally in English language, however some content may be geo restricted subject to available rights.
