


With the launch of Barbarossa: Sword of the Mediterranean (12x’45) at VS Worldwide, Turkish distributor MISTCO confirms it’s the home of the top historical drama series from the country. Produced by Es Film, the series stars Engin Altan Düzyatan (Resurrection: Ertugrul) and Ulaş Tuna Astepe (Lifeline) who present this story of the brave and legendary sailors who become conquerors of the seas in the 16th century.
Another historical drama in the market is The Great Seljuks: Guardians Of Justice (120x’45) an epic journey produced by Akli Film, and blended with love, secrets, and struggle… Melikşah (Bugra Gulsoy), who was forced to ascend the throne upon his dad, Alparslan’s death, had received news of the death of his beloved wife, Başulu, on the same day.
The distributor, headed by its managing directo, Aysegul Tuzun, also brings love stories to the global market place: An Anatolian Tale (S1: 110x’45, S2: on air) from Kopru Film shows a young inventor living in a small town named Gedelli in the middle of the moor. He and his cousins had been dreaming to build an airplane for years and they finally managed to build it, and also at the same time they succeed to convince a company to see and invest in their airplane.
Drama series The innocent (S1: 128x’45, S2: on air) tells the story of four siblings diagnosed by different types of obsessive compulsive disorder, as a tragic consequence of their childhood traumas and family history. Based on true life experiences, the serie narrates the story of the family’s present (living an imprisoned life in an apartment due to Safiye’s (elder sister in the family) excessing cleaning habits and germophobia) parallel with their past (all neglected and almost left to starve by their mother, who is also neglected by their father).
Action serial The Shadow Team (S1: 44x’45 S2: on air) tells the story, fight, devotion, and sacrifice of ‘seven patriots’ who accept a challenging duty that requires them to leave their own lives behind and become ghosts among crowds for their country and who literally go underground for this purpose.
